Even if you guys don't use FL Studio or produce hip hop beats, there is a ton of inspiring info there...excellent Youtube tutorial videos etc.
Really cool site...and the guy who runs it (NFX) is just great. A really geniune, knowledgeable guy.

It's time to mix the new Mountain Mirrors CD down, and as time goes by, my whole setup changes. Sometimes within weeks. lol
Right now, I feel very satisfied with the tools at my disposal. There are tons of great VST plugins available right now. IMHO, this is the most sublime arsenal I've found:
U-he Zebra2 synth and MoreFeedbackMachine2 delay
Gforce M-Tron
REAPER and its' built-in fx (especially ReaComp)
DDMF IIeq
Fabfilter Timeless delay and Pro-C compressor
MoReVoX Retroverb reverb sample collection
PSP Audioware Vintage Warmer 2
Camel Audio Camelspace
I'm able to craft some great mixes with these plugs...check them out. They're all highly recommended, Sandman-certified sonic madness.

Whenever I listen to my favorite classic rock songs or hear an old school folk or Motown track, I am instantly mesmerized by the reverb sounds. Especially on the vocals.
I discovered Retroverb while leafing through EQ Magazine.
I went to the site and listened to the demos and was very impressed. So I emailed Sab about what he used to capture these to assure myself this collection was worth the pricetag of $59. It is.
He is a very, very cool guy and answered all my questions in depth. Rest assured, this collection was captured with the finest equipment with skill and love. (He even listened to some Mountain Mirrors tunes and is now a fan which is of course killer too.)
I bought it and began replacing all of the algorithmic verbs on tracks for the forthcoming MM cd with with the MoReVox samples. The more I replaced, the more I smiled. These reverbs make me feel good in my bones and my heart...So cool.
These reverb impulses (real spaces and sampled hardware) are designed for TL Space, but are compatible with any convolution engine (SIR, Perfect Space, Pristine Space etc.)...I am using them in Reaper with Cakewalk's Perfect Space engine. Dig it.

I never had a real preference for strings until now. SOB strings are the BALLS.
