"I Don't Belong" live video on Youtube
I just uploaded a live, stripped down version of "I Don't Belong" onto Youtube. Kinda wish I'd recorded it this way originally.

I hope you enjoy it.

Very Best,
Jeff

The first "official" Mountain Mirrors video is on Youtube!

This is the first track from 2006's self-titled Mountain Mirrors LP. It's my first attempt at making a video for my music, and I really hope you dig it. When I paired it up with these public domain archive clips, it quickly took on a "Dark Side of the Moon synchronizes with the Wizard of Oz, dude!" vibe...and gave me freakin chills.

While there are newer Mountain Mirrors songs to do videos for, this one just fell into place. The vibe felt right. And "Stay Evil" remains one of my favorite MM tracks.

I had fun putting this together (I used Magix Movie Maker) and will put more videos together as time allows...you can subscribe to my Youtube channel here...

Thanks for watching it, Dear Listener!

-Jeff

About:

Mountain Mirrors began in a voodoo-riddled mountainside catacomb in the year 2004.

There, in the pitch-black darkness, fugitive Jeff Sanders experienced a life-changing vision quest...full of beautiful demonic sirens, three-breasted cyclops oracles and small, cuddly animals.

Tripping balls from an evil concoction of sensory deprivation and menacing curse vibrations, the Sandman carved the lyrics and music that would become the foundation for the first MM album, 2004's Lunar Ecstasy into those filthy stone walls.

Jeff released two more CDs since then, and in the winter of 2008 he returned to that evil mountainside to work on a fourth CD.

With the help of deviant musical masterminds Per Ulfhielm and Magnus "Trummange" Brandell of Odd Grooves fame, this would prove to be no ordinary CD. Like a perfect storm of epic proportions, it would become...

The Immortal Deadbeats EP.

Early Reviews:

"Holy crap! Dude . . . This new EP is f#@$ing wild, out of control, and so f#@$ing awesome! I've never done a feature review on a mere four songs before, but this EP isn't merely four songs." - Pope John-O, The Ripple Effect

"Mountain Mirrors continues their upward trajectory as a project that just gets more and more interesting with each release. Mainman Jeff Sanders' has tapped into a warm, organic and lush feel for this EP, giving it firm footing in fleeting hints of good progressive rock of yesteryear but fortunately not caving into the pretentions of that scene. More importantly, The Immortal Deadbeats does not sound dated. And unlike most progressive rock outfits, Mountain Mirrors does not spend your precious valuable time noodling away on throwaway exercises in musical dexterity." - John Chedsey, Satan Stole My Teddybear

Liner Notes:

Jeff Sanders - all vocals and acoustic guitar riffage (6 and 12 string), electric guitars on "Wash Me Away", mellotron cello in "Wash Me Away", additional percussion, spacey psychedelic fx

Per Ulfhielm - all bass guitars and keyboards, electric guitar solo on "Owned Again", electric guitar on "Ascension Vibes" and on the end jam in "Wash Me Away", electronic drums on "Wash Me Away", mojo

Magnus "Trummange" Brandell - all drums and general badass vibes

- Recorded and mixed by Sanders/Ulfhielm

- All words and music Copyright 2009 Jeffrey J. Sanders

- Published by Zen Frankenstein Music (ASCAP)

- Mastered from analog tape by Jedi mastering master Nick Zampiello at New Alliance East in Cambridge, Massachusetts (http://www.newallianceeast.com). Dynamics fully preserved.

mixdown mini-diary #3
I just got reference tracks from Nick Zampiello at New Alliance East mastering in Cambridge, MA.

He transferred the mixes onto analog tape for extra mojo sauce...then worked his jedi mastering magic with a rack full of tube and transformer gear. VIBES!!!

I'm floored with this mastering job. As I listened to the mixes, it felt like being enveloped by a warm blanket full of kickass and goodness.

Sweet!!! I expect a physical master disc in my hand by the weekend of April 4th...

Respect,
Jeff
