I've decided to turn this page into sort of a blog to feature some plugins, VSTi instruments, microphones, guitars and whatever is currently kicking my ass. Snake Oil Strings - These are the absolute most kick ass guitar strings in existence. Oktavamod Mics - Michael Joly just modded up an Oktava MK 219 for me. I told him I wanted something like a Shure SM7 with more sparkle. What a beautiful piece of work this mic is. After going through the whole 200-300 dollar Chinese knockoff mic thing like everyone else, I finally found a mic that I can keep forever instead of using it on a couple of songs and dumping it on Ebay. Awesome customer service, too. If you are thinking of going with any of these ADK, Studio Electronics, SE, MXL etc. mics, do yourself a favor and consider these Oktavamod mics. Cockos Reaper- Long story short, this DAW kicks the Llama's balls clean off. After messing around with different recording apps, I decided my sound card and/or system were just crap. Then I tried Reaper. This program is like a damn gazelle, it is so efficient and sleek. This guy Justin who created it is the mastermind behind Winamp. Reaper seems to be a labor of love for him. Many of the requests Reaper users give him are implemented in days, sometimes hours. This program just has good vibes. Plus it's called "Reaper"!! I mean...that's just plain kick ass right there. lol
